On the 6th of February, the world celebrates Safer Internet Day, and at OLIS, we are actively celebrating this occasion. We recognize the paramount importance, especially in the 21st century, of equipping students with essential skills to navigate the internet wisely and safely. While the internet is an incredible tool, its misuse can lead to negative consequences.
As part of our celebration, students engaged in a competition where they crafted slogans, digital posters, or poems to convey a clear message about using the internet safely. Year 7 and Year 8 students are in for a treat with a free performance, courtesy of the Culture Pass. The performance titled ‘Aghmilli like’ focuses on the idea that one’s self-worth is not determined by the number of ‘likes’ received on social media.
To further educate and engage students, an online assembly has been organized. During the assembly, all classes participated in an online quiz, offering a fun and interactive way to learn about staying safe online. Our commitment to Safer Internet Day reflects our dedication to fostering a responsible and secure online environment for our students thus helping them become responsible digital citizens.
